The original structure, built as a school in 1924, was designed by the renowned architect George T. Santmyers. George dedicated 50 years of his noteworthy career in Washington, D.C., and is best known for his multifamily projects throughout the city. He designed more than 440 apartment buildings over the course of his illustrious career. His design portfolio also includes commercial buildings, banks, churches, public garages and single-family residences.
